Launch of the Healthy Living Program in Cuernavaca

The Government of Mexico, through the national program "Live Healthy, Live Happy," plans to carry out personal care and health activities in more than 90,000 schools across the country. With the intention of benefiting more than 12 million boys and girls, classes on tooth brushing, vision tests, and other comprehensive care will be offered.

During the morning conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum, the implementation of this program was announced in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and the Ministry of Health. Mario Delgado, head of the SEP, mentioned that the aim is to provide boys and girls with comprehensive attention regarding their personal care and health.

Among the services that will be offered in participating schools are vision tests with the possibility of receiving free glasses, weight evaluations, oral education, promotion of healthy habits, and talks on appropriate lifestyles. These activities not only aim to address the immediate needs of students but will also serve as a measure to gather relevant information that can influence future health strategies.

In addition to improving health indicators at the national level, the results of these interventions will be included in the Digital School Health Record. Thus, the program "Live Healthy, Live Happy" not only seeks to promote a healthy lifestyle among boys and girls but also to generate valuable information for future decision-making in the education and health system.
