The federal deputy of Morena and former governor of Morelos, Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo, expressed his confidence in his innocence regarding the accusations against him. Blanco stated that he is ready to legally defend himself against the 'false accusations.' He expressed tranquility and was confident that the ruling will be in his favor. In the event of being acquitted, he requested an apology for the accusations made against him.
On the other hand, Blanco is facing accusations from the Morelos Justice Prosecutor's Office. He is accused of attempted sexual assault against his half-sister, Nidia Fabiola, as well as alleged corruption for misappropriation of funds among his collaborators and irregular payments to political parties. In response to these accusations, Deputy Raúl Bolaños-Cacho Cué confirmed that the legal process is underway. Legal deadlines were established for the presentation of evidence and confrontations between the parties.
In another case, the Justice Prosecutor of Campeche, Renato Sales, assured that he has enough evidence to strip Senator Alejandro Moreno of legislative immunity. Sales confirmed the complaint filed before the Chamber of Deputies and emphasized the need for the investigation to be conducted properly by the Legislative Instruction Section.
Regarding the processes for the stripping of immunity of Cuauhtémoc Blanco and Alejandro Moreno, the leader of the majority in Morena, Ricardo Monreal, guaranteed that there will be no pressures or political persecutions in the study of these requests. Monreal emphasized the autonomy of the Jurisdictional Commission and the importance of acting according to the law and the conscience of those involved. He also ruled out the possibility of the cases being used as 'bargaining chips' and reiterated the need to act seriously and respect constitutional regulations.
