The president of the Jurisdictional Commission of San Lázaro, Hugo Eric Flores, explained during the ordinary meeting that the file delivered to the Instructive Section was not appropriate, which generated confusion and numerous exchanges of communications with different bodies of the chamber.
Regarding the case of Cuauhtémoc Blanco, who has already appeared before the Morelos Prosecutor's Office, it was confirmed that his file would also be presented in the same session. Flores emphasized that no one is being pointed out, but it was necessary to thoroughly review the files without delay.
The Instructive Section postponed the session twice, arguing that the file needed to be properly integrated. The Attorney General of Justice of Morelos sent the documentation demonstrating the competence of the party requesting the Trial of Origin.
The Attorney General of Morelos, Edgar Maldonado, stated at a press conference that the institution met the requirements set by the legislative authority. Cuauhtémoc Blanco has maintained his innocence, denying any kinship with the complainant and revealing a complaint for extortion filed by his brother Ulises Bravo Molina.
By a majority of votes, the members of the Instructive Section decided not to initiate a trial of origin against Cuauhtémoc Blanco, thus avoiding the loss of his immunity for the alleged crime of attempted rape against his sister Nidia Fabiola.
During the session, Hugo Eric Flores detailed the handling of sensitive cases like that of Senator Alejandro Moreno and former governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco. Despite the criticism, the deputy assured that there are no blockages in the processes and that legality is being followed.
Germán Martínez, a PAN deputy who voted in favor of starting the trial against Blanco, expressed his disagreement with the refusal to admit discussion of the case.
