The institutions that make up the Security Cabinet in Mexico have carried out a joint operation in the state of Sinaloa as part of the National Security Strategy to combat drug trafficking and organized crime in the country. Sinaloa is known for being the territory of criminal groups dedicated to the production and export of synthetic narcotics. On this occasion, a large quantity of liquid and solid methamphetamine was seized in three homes, marking the largest seizure of this substance during the government of President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Authorities have intensified efforts to dismantle clandestine laboratories and reduce the presence of synthetic drugs in the country since the beginning of the current government. This operation in Sinaloa involved the participation of various federal and state security forces, such as Sedena, Semar, FGR, National Guard, and SSPC, in collaboration with local authorities of the state.

During the operation carried out in the town of Ayuba, in Culiacán, three properties used for the manufacture and distribution of synthetic drugs were identified. In these places, 4,700 liters of liquid methamphetamine and 269 kilos of the drug in solid form were seized. The seized substances were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for safekeeping and analysis.

According to the federal Security Secretariat, the seizure prevented the distribution of 4.9 tons of methamphetamine, which is estimated to be equivalent to 4.9 million doses and would cause an economic impact of 1.462 billion pesos for criminal organizations. This notable seizure represents the largest recorded to date during the current administration.
