
In Sinaloa, some educational institutions have decided to suspend in-person classes in various municipalities due to the intensified violent episodes, especially on Wednesday night. The Ministry of Public Education and Culture (SEPyC), led by Gloria Félix Niebla, has stated that it calls for the reopening of educational establishments, respecting the decisions of parents who choose not to send their children, with established measures to ensure safety.
Meanwhile, the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) has announced the suspension of in-person classes at 17 locations, opting for virtual activities amid the violent events in the municipalities of Culiacán, Navolato, Eldorado, among others. UAS has affirmed that it will respect the decision of students regarding their attendance and will not apply absences or sanctions in case of non-attendance.
Several educational institutions, including the Autonomous University of the West (UAO) and CBTis 224, have opted to carry out their activities virtually, following safety measures in light of the violent situation in the region. Public and private kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools have decided to suspend in-person activities, following the recommendations of SEPyC and leaving the decision in the hands of parents.
Regarding the reported violent incidents in the municipalities of Culiacán, Navolato, and Mocorito, the State Public Security Ministry of Sinaloa has confirmed their receipt and has assured working jointly with federal authorities to restore tranquility in the area as soon as possible. Incidents of shooting between civilians have been reported in various localities, raising concerns in the community. Governor Rubén Rocha Moya has emphasized the persistence of violent acts despite the arrests and seizures that have been made.
