New Security Measures in Culiacán Hospitals

Following the recent attacks by armed groups against patients at the General Hospital of Culiacán, the Secretary of Health of Sinaloa, Cuitláhuac González Galindo, announced the implementation of new security measures in the main hospitals of the state. These measures include the presence of security forces and the installation of metal detectors.

The incidents at the General Hospital of Culiacán, which suffered two attacks in October, highlight the importance of reinforcing security at this medical facility. The hospital provides care to patients in high-risk situations, especially those with gunshot wounds. González assured that the complaints have been addressed and that the metal detectors are functioning properly, ensuring the safety of patients and medical staff.

In addition to the metal detectors, video surveillance has been strengthened in hospitals affected by cases of violence, such as the General Hospital of Culiacán, the General Hospital of Mazatlán, and the Hospital de la Cruz in Elota. So far, there have been no reports of medical personnel being injured in the hospitals of the state.

In another matter, on Wednesday night, the Public Security Secretariat of Sinaloa confirmed the shooting death of a man in the Centro neighborhood of the municipality of Escuinapa. Two people were also reported injured, one by an explosive device and another by gunfire, as well as a case of deprivation of liberty in Mazatlán.
