The governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, supervised the rescue operations for four workers trapped in the Santa Fe mine, located in the Sierra de Rosario. The state governor was accompanied by the National Coordinator of Civil Protection, Laura Velázquez Alzúa, and Division General Héctor Ávila Alcocer, commander of the Third Military Region. The officials held a meeting with the workers' families, reiterating their full support and that of President Claudia Sheinbaum to carry out search and rescue operations to locate the trapped individuals. Governor Rocha, thanking President Sheinbaum for her support and assistance, detailed that 36 Defense specialists are already working, sent following her instructions, along with company specialists who are serving as guides. "We are all three levels of government here: the state, the municipality, and then the National Coordinator of Civil Protection of the country, who represents the federal government, and is also an expert on the matter," Governor Rocha stated. He emphasized the outreach and attention to the workers' families: "We just met with them, we just talked to them. We are also addressing that part."
"We are going to work day and night until we have them with us," highlighted the National Coordinator of Civil Protection, adding that she will personally coordinate the rescue efforts until the miners are back with their families. "We just spoke with them, they are calm, they know the conditions they are in inside the mine and understand the situation, they agree that at least once a day we give them a report on the progress we are making, right now the important thing is to focus and give it our all, to work 24 hours a day, not to stop, not for a second," she said. "We will also be very close to them," the state governor specified.
"The second most important point is the link and communication we have with the families," said the National Coordinator of Civil Protection, Laura Velázquez. She stressed that the fundamental objective of this coordination with the state, federal governments, military authorities, and the company itself is to get the four trapped miners out alive.
