Over 2,500 cyclists participate in 'Pueblos y Paisajes 2026' ride for water care in Culiacán

Governor Rubén Rocha Moya led the 'Pueblos y Paisajes 2026' event, gathering over 2,500 cyclists to promote environmental awareness and social well-being through a ride focused on water conservation.

As part of Governor Rubén Rocha Moya's decisive push to promote public policies that strengthen social well-being, active mobility, and environmental awareness, the 'Pueblos y Paisajes 2026: Rodando por el Cuidado del Agua' ride brought together over 2,500 cyclists in an event that combined sports, citizen participation, and a commitment to natural resources. From early morning, the Sinaloan capital became a meeting point for families, cycling groups, and the general public who answered the call to ride for a cause: water care. With bicycles ready, helmets adjusted, and shared enthusiasm, participants began the route from Ley Express, in front of the Arch of La Conquista, marking the start of a circuit that connected the city and communities. The route advanced through a path that included the El Tamarindo district and the community of Limón de los Ramos, allowing cyclists to enjoy natural landscapes, interact as a community, and reinforce the message of sustainability. Unlike other rides, this event stood out for its circuit format, starting and ending in Culiacán, which strengthened its accessible and inclusive character. During the journey, the atmosphere remained dynamic and participatory: organized groups, complete families, experienced cyclists, and beginners shared the road in a day where sports and environmental awareness were naturally intertwined. As part of the activities, dynamics and raffles kept the attendees' enthusiasm high, with the giveaway of bicycles, cycling kits, and helmets, prizes that generated great anticipation and motivation among the cycling community. 'If we ride together for this cause today, we can also act together to protect it tomorrow,' stated an architect. The ride was backed by a security operation coordinated among the three levels of government, ensuring a safe route for all participants, which allowed them to fully enjoy the experience. 'Pueblos y Paisajes 2026' thus consolidates itself as an initiative that not only promotes physical activation but also strengthens the social fabric and positions water care as a shared cause. The State Government, through SEBIDES, reiterates its commitment to continue driving actions that connect citizens with their environment, promoting healthy lifestyles and an environmental culture that will endure over time. Omar López Campos, Secretary of Well-being and Sustainable Development, highlighted: 'Today I didn't come just as an official, I came to ride with the cyclists. Caring for it is the responsibility of each one, from home, from the community. And if this ride leaves us with one thing clear, it's this: water is not a distant issue, it's an everyday one. These were shared kilometers, passing through our towns, seeing landscapes that remind us how much this land is worth.'
