The Sinaloan businessman Manuel Clouthier Carrillo recently reported that he has faced problems with the government of Sinaloa, led by the Morena member Rubén Rocha Moya, as well as with the municipal administration. Clouthier expressed his concern about attempts to link him with organized crime, which could put him at risk and open the possibility for the government to orchestrate an attack against him.
On January 25, Clouthier reported that armed men set fire to the office of one of his works in Culiacán, Sinaloa, as well as a backhoe. Although he acknowledged that the governor was not directly responsible for these acts, he pointed out the need for Rocha to control those acting in his name, referring to possible connections with criminal groups.
Clouthier stated that the governor of Sinaloa bears the original stain of having received support from organized crime during his electoral campaign in 2021, particularly from members of the criminal group known as Los Chapitos. The businessman emphasized that he does not feel pressured by organized crime and has maintained a conflict-free history with such entities.
Finally, Clouthier stressed that there is evidence supporting his claim that Los Chapitos operated as part of the political team of Morena in the elections of several states, including Sonora, Sinaloa, and Nayarit. The businessman highlighted the need to address these connections in the interview he gave to 'Aristegui En Vivo.'
