Security Reinforcement in Sinaloa Leads to Arrest

In the state of Sinaloa, as part of a security reinforcement, various entities such as the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa), the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the Attorney General's Office (FGR), and the National Guard (GN) conducted a successful operation that resulted in the detention of an individual who was carrying a handgun and a rifle.

During surveillance rounds near the botanical garden of Culiacán, the agents encountered a vehicle whose driver, upon noticing the presence of authorities, attempted to flee. After a chase, the vehicle crashed into a sidewalk a few streets later, leading to the detention of the driver, a 19-year-old young man.

Upon conducting a security inspection, a handgun was found in the individual’s possession and within the vehicle, a long gun, usable cartridges, and a bag of marijuana were discovered. All confiscated items, along with the detainee, were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry to determine his legal status. Additionally, videos found on the individual’s cellphone showed acts of torture against members of rival groups, even leading to their death.

It is important to mention that the vehicle the detainee was traveling in was reported stolen. These actions carried out within the framework of the Security Cabinet aim to reaffirm the commitment of the involved institutions to work together to ensure the peace and tranquility of the citizenry in Sinaloa.
