Violent Clashes Result in Deaths in Culiacan

During the course of this night, six homicides have been recorded, various properties attacked with gunfire, and the seizure of vehicles, weapons, and tactical equipment. The most recent incident occurred tonight, involving a chase between armed groups that led to a confrontation in the southwest of the city, resulting in two civilian deaths and three injuries.

According to preliminary reports from the State Public Security Secretary, the confrontations began around 6:00 PM in the Antonio Nakayama neighborhood, near the Social Security clinic of the Infonavit Cañadas neighborhood. The shootouts extended along the Las Torres boulevard, also known as the Paseo de los Ganaderos, reaching Hilario Medina avenue in the Barrancos sector.

After arriving at the scene, federal forces found two deceased individuals and three abandoned vehicles with gunfire impacts. The deceased were dressed in black, and upon noticing the arrival of federal forces, several civilians managed to escape, complicating the precise determination of events.

During the day today, reports indicated the discovery of deceased civilians, as well as properties attacked with gunfire, suggesting possible kidnappings. In the morning, the body of a man around 31 years old was found in the Musalá residential complex, with multiple gunshot wounds, who had reportedly been missing since Friday, February 14.

Additionally, two men were found with signs of torture, mutilated hands and feet with a message written on a cardboard nailed to their backs, near the Culiacán-Eldorado highway close to the El Diez town, situated south of Culiacán.

Regarding the attacked properties, two mini casinos named 'Jugadas' and a dispensary in the Sinaloa neighborhood south of Culiacán were shot at, with no injuries reported in those places. Witnesses reported seeing at least three injured persons who could not be located.

In another turn of events, abandoned vehicles were located, including a white Cupra car and a gray Toyota, both recent models. This Monday, the confrontations in Culiacán intensified, with shootings in various sectors of the city.
