José Rangel Canobbio Inzunza, known as "El Güerito" and alleged operator of the Sinaloa Cartel, was arrested on Wednesday in Sinaloa by federal and state forces. According to the joint statement from the Secretariat of National Defense, National Guard, Secretariat of Navy, Attorney General's Office of the Republic, and Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection, the arrest took place in Culiacán.

Various security institutions participated in the arrest, which was carried out as part of an investigation that located "El Güerito" in Culiacán. Following a coordinated deployment, the arrest was made without putting the inhabitants of the municipality at risk. During the security inspection, exclusive Army weapons, cash, and doses of drugs were found in Inzunza's possession.

José Rangel Canobbio Inzunza has an arrest warrant for drug trafficking and distribution in the United States, and he will be transferred to Mexico City to face his legal situation at the Specialized Attorney's Office in Organized Crime. His constitutional rights were informed, and along with the seized items, he will be made available to the Public Ministry.

"El Güerito" is identified as one of the main operators of the "Pacific Cartel," specifically from the faction "Los Menores." According to investigations, he was the financial operator and trusted man of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, alias "El Chapito." He is attributed with attacks on military installations and forces in Culiacán on past dates, related to operations against Ovidio Guzmán López, known as "Ratoón."

The U.S. Department of Justice considers him the most relevant financial operator of "Los Chapitos." The arrest of "El Güerito" represents a breakthrough in security efforts and the fight against organized crime in Sinaloa.
