On February 6, 2014, there was an operation at the Mar & Sea restaurant in Culiacán, Sinaloa, where Iván Archivaldo Guzmán was present. The operation lasted more than nine hours and concluded with the seizure of five luxury vehicles and magazines suitable for AK-47 rifles. Despite this, Iván Archivaldo managed to escape.

During the operation at the Mar & Sea restaurant in Culiacán, he managed to camouflage himself among the workers and escape from the Army.

The Mar & Sea restaurant in Culiacán is owned by Juan Sigfrido Millán Lizárraga, a former governor of Sinaloa. Millán Lizárraga governed Sinaloa from 1999 to 2004 and partnered with two businessmen to acquire the seafood restaurant in the Urban-Commercial Development Tres Ríos. Initially a franchise of the El Farallón restaurant chain, the restaurant was renamed Mar & Sea after its acquisition.

Years later, the restaurant became an icon of the city and Juan Millán visits it frequently. There, he hosts politicians from various parties and offers them advice. Juan Sigfrido Millán Lizárraga is a Mexican politician and businessman born in the mountains of the municipality of Rosario, Sinaloa. With a career in the Institutional Revolutionary Party, he held prominent political positions and is currently retired.
