This Wednesday, the discovery of ten bodies was reported in various locations in Culiacán, resulting from violence attributed to internal conflicts that have erupted between the factions of 'Los Mayos' and 'Los Chapos' in the Sinaloa Cartel, initiated since September 9th.
Seven mutilated corpses were found, piled up at the side of the Culiacán-Mazatlán highway, at kilometer 119, near the Laguna de Canachi. Additionally, two more bodies were found in the El Carrizalejo community in the Sanalona district, and one more in El Trébol, Costa Rica district.
Around 6:30 in the morning, the first report was received about the discovery of seven deceased individuals, with evident signs of violence and torture. Alongside the bodies, messages on posters were found, attributed to one of the conflicting criminal groups. National Guard elements arrived at the scene to cordon off the area; subsequently, elements from the Sinaloa Prosecutor's Office arrived to collect evidence and transport the remains to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO).
Later, calls to 911 reported that there were two dead bodies in a cemetery in El Carrizalejo, in the Sanalona district, apparently of two young men.
The tenth body was found at the El Trébol bridge, in the Costa Rica district. The Prosecutor's Office and the Public Security Secretariat of Sinaloa deployed operations to investigate the homicides.
