The government of Sinaloa received a proposal from the authorities in response to the wave of violence in the state. Feliciano Castro, spokesperson for Rocha Moya, stated that they do not seek to repress protests and are open to dialogue, although a date for this has not yet been set.

The protests arose after the murder of the children Gael and Alexander in Culiacán. The peaceful demonstration of hundreds of family members and students of the minors ended in violent acts upon arriving at the governor's offices, demanding his resignation and a response to the violence in the region.

On Thursday, January 19, Gael and Alexander, along with their father Antonio, were attacked by an armed group while traveling in Los Ángeles. The incident took the lives of both children and their father. The tragedy has moved the community, sparking outrage and protests against the lack of security in the region.

So far, there have been no arrests for these homicides, and the authorities have shown a willingness to engage in dialogue. Rocha Moya's intention was to talk with the protesters last Thursday, but this could not be carried out due to disturbances in the government offices.

The deaths of Gael and Alexander have sparked a wave of demands and expressions of grief in Sinaloan society. The lack of security and impunity have been central themes in the protests, reflecting the citizens' concern over the violence affecting the region.
