The criminal leader operated in the Juárez Valley, an area controlled by the Sinaloa Cartel, an organization linked to drug trafficking and human trafficking to the United States.

Regarding 'Los Cabrera', also responsible for the violence in Durango, they are the brothers Felipe, Alejandro, and José Luis Cabrera Sarabia, who control a large part of the state territory and are linked to organized crime. They have a long history of illicit activities related to drug trafficking and the transportation of synthetic drugs and marijuana to the United States. They have been in territorial dispute with Los Chapitos and have remained in the spotlight due to their criminal actions.
About the detention of 'El Sobrino', he was accompanied by two people, Tereso de Jesús Rocha Puentes and Alicia Sarahí Olivas Simental, who were carrying firearms and drug doses, resulting in their immediate detention. Leonel Salas Fabela had an arrest warrant for aggravated kidnapping and sexual crimes.
Authorities have succeeded in detaining those involved thanks to coordinated intelligence work among various security institutions, and they continue with the National Security Strategy to dismantle criminal structures and reduce crime incidence in the region.
In addition to this operation, the city of Durango experienced a chaotic episode when a traffic altercation ended with a motorcyclist injured by gunfire from a federal agent, triggering panic and confusion in the area. The incident caused a police clash with three people injured and revealed the presence of National Guard elements working on operations in the region.
