Luis 'N', alias 'El Conejo' and leader of 'Los 300', was arrested in Veracruz according to the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico on March 9. Investigations suggest that 'El Conejo' maintained connections with current and former mayors in municipalities such as Ecatepec and Cuautitlán, using his influence to evade charges for serious crimes for years.
According to reports, 'El Conejo' used his power to avoid being pursued for the crimes he had been accused of for a long time. Despite this, he is currently being investigated along with his criminal gang. He has been detained to determine his legal situation, and specific charges are expected in the coming days.
The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico expressed that 'El Conejo' is considered a "priority target" in the entity due to his links to various criminal activities, such as drug trafficking and corruption with public officials in localities such as Ecatepec and Cuautitlán.
According to the state Attorney General's Office, 'El Conejo' is identified as the leader of 'Los 300', and there are arrest warrants against him for homicide, extortion, drug-related crimes, robbery, among others. In addition, he would be involved in organizing demonstrations and blockades on avenues, as well as in extortion and robbery of transporters.
'Los 300' have operated as a criminal group in the State of Mexico for years, mostly composed of taxi drivers in the northern Valley of Mexico. They have been associated with violent acts, clashes with the police, and robberies, having had an affiliation with the PRI in 2019 under the leadership of 'El Conejo'.
The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico charges them with crimes such as homicides, extortion of various commercial sectors, dispossession, drug-related crimes, robbery, attacks on communication routes, use of firearms, and injuries, among others. Links with local officials in Ecatepec and Cuautitlán could uncover cases of corruption in the region.
