Gail Castro, brother of the famous YouTuber Markitos Toys, was tragically murdered at the seafood restaurant Villa Marina, in Ensenada (Baja California). The incident occurred on March 28, when Gail and another individual were the target of more than 15 shots in the El Sauzal neighborhood of Rodríguez.
In response to this painful event, Markitos Toys publicly expressed for the first time about his brother's death. He expressed his bewilderment and rejection of what happened, stating that he considers the tragedy an incomprehensible injustice. In a story shared on Instagram, the influencer defended his integrity and that of his family, rejecting any accusations of abuse or injustice.
The attackers fled the scene in a sedan, which they later abandoned, with no arrests made in connection to the case so far. Gail Castro, known for his luxury content and travels on social media, was married to influencer Brianda Sánchez and operated a YouTube channel called "El Gail."
However, prior to this tragic incident, Gail had been mentioned in a flyer linking him to criminal activities, along with other influencers and singers, asking the audience to avoid following them. Nonetheless, Markitos Toys has reiterated his brother's honorability, denying any link to illicit activities.
The family of Markitos Toys has been the focus of media attention due to their ostentatious lifestyle, showcasing luxury, travel, recognized brand possessions, and exotic vehicles. Although false rumors surfaced regarding the murder of another brother of Markitos Toys, Kevin Castro, authorities confirmed it was a confusion with Fernando Angulo, alias 'Ranchero 95.'
As for Markitos Toys, whose real name is Marcos Eduardo Castro Cárdenas, he rose to fame in 2019 with his YouTube videos depicting his daily life. With millions of followers on platforms like Instagram, the influencer has been in the public eye due to various controversies, such as his arrests for speeding and his controversial comments about aspirations to be a drug trafficker in the past.
