The governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, headed the inauguration of the 'Jalisco Learns 2026 Educational Festival,' which runs from April 8 to 10 at Expo Guadalajara, during the Easter vacation period. The event is aimed at children and their families, with the objective of offering formative and recreational activities through workshops, conferences, and interactive experiences. According to authorities, the festival features activities in areas such as arts, environment, science, technology, languages, physical and socio-emotional well-being. Despite the vacation period, there is participation of children in the scheduled activities. 'We are very pleased to see so many children coming to Expo Guadalajara to learn through workshops, conferences, and immersive experiences in areas like arts, environment, science, technology, languages, physical and socio-emotional well-being,' shared the state official. In Jalisco, girls and boys are our priority: in addition to implementing an educational model that allows them to be more competitive in the future, we are working to form great human beings through events like the Jalisco Learns 2026 Educational Festival. The Government of Jalisco informed that these types of events are part of the strategies to strengthen the educational model in the entity. Educational Offer during the Festival The Secretary of Education of Jalisco (SE), Juan Carlos Flores Miramontes, pointed out that the festival is aimed at basic education students from public and private schools, and features over 25 workshops. 'We have more than 25 workshops that can help them not only for their children to choose their next school activities well but also to form students in a comprehensive way,' he highlighted. Incidents in Schools during the Vacation Period On the other hand, he announced that prior to the return to classes of more than 1.6 million basic education students in Jalisco this next Monday, April 13, there will be three thefts at schools during the vacation period. The incidents occurred at schools in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara (AMG) and mainly consisted of the theft of wiring. It was indicated that these cases represent a decrease compared to previous periods. He added that the damages have already been classified as minor and it is expected that they will be resolved during the first week of classes.
