Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro attended a medical congress in Guadalajara and was awarded the Fray Antonio Alcalde medal for promoting the teaching hospital network. He announced the construction of two new hospitals in Ciudad Guzmán and Puerto Vallarta.


Jalisco Governor Awarded for Teaching Hospital Network

The Governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus Navarro, participated in the inauguration of the XXVII International Congress on Advances in Medicine (CIAM) 2026 and the XIV International Congress on Nursing, held in Guadalajara. During the event, the governor shared plans for the development of medical infrastructure and the improvement of healthcare quality in the state. He noted that in collaboration with the University of Guadalajara, a project is underway to build two new teaching hospitals in Ciudad Guzmán and Puerto Vallarta. Furthermore, Lemus Navarro emphasized that mechanisms are being implemented to attract specialists to work in all regions of the state. In recognition of his contributions to promoting the network of teaching hospitals, the governor was awarded the Fray Antonio Alcalde medal. The CIAM 2026 congress, held from March 26-28 at the University of Guadalajara, brought together specialists, medical personnel, and academics. The program included activities for professional development, knowledge exchange, and analysis of challenges in the healthcare system. A symposium on media and health was also held, where experts discussed the challenges of disseminating medical information, including misinformation, access to understandable content, and the impact of digital audiences.
