Guadalajara Government Awarded for City Cleaning Strategy

The Guadalajara City Government received the Solid Waste Award for the 'Limpia Guadalajara' strategy, granted by the organization DSLATAM ISWA. This recognition adds to the one awarded by the FROC in the context of actions focused on improving urban services. Mayor Verónica Delgadillo emphasized the importance of taking care of the city and thanked the cleaning workers. Governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, participated in the XVII Labor-Entrepreneurial Meeting organized by FROC-Conlabor Jalisco, where companies and workers with 30 to 50 years of seniority were recognized. During the event, the 'Francisco Silva Romero' award was presented, and the work of union leader Antonio Álvarez Esparza was highlighted. The governor stated that the government of Jalisco assumes the responsibility of teaming up with FROC to defend the rights of those who go out to earn a living every day; to guarantee a healthy work environment that provides benefits and positions Jalisco as an attractive destination for investments. The 'Limpia Guadalajara' strategy has allowed for the reorganization of the waste collection system, with the participation of nearly 500 workers. A little over a year ago, we had a huge challenge: to remove a company that was not doing its job, to equip the city, and to build an efficient waste collection system to not fail the citizens of Guadalajara, and of course, you as entrepreneurs, it was stated. It was also reported that the strategy has contributed to improving the working conditions of the cleaning staff and the quality of service in the city. We started this challenge a little over a year ago.
