The Government of Jalisco invests 930 million pesos in the modernization of the Old Civil Hospital 'Fray Antonio Alcalde', improving the care and infrastructure of the hospital.


Transformation of the Old Civil Hospital of Guadalajara

The Government of Jalisco made a state investment of 930 million pesos to carry out 10 rehabilitation and construction works at the Old Civil Hospital "Fray Antonio Alcalde." These works focused on transforming and modernizing Alcalde's legacy, integrating technology and improving hospitalization with renewed and functional areas to provide high-quality medical care, especially in high-specialty consultations.

The governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, highlighted that these works reflect his administration's commitment to improving medical care and health services in the state, especially evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized the importance of these projects in the city's growth, which have positively impacted the life of Guadalajara.

The general director of the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara, Jaime Andrade Villanueva, acknowledged the magnitude of the remodeling carried out, stressing that this work perpetuates the legacy of Fray Antonio Alcalde and ensures the continuity of the Civil Hospitals for future generations.

The works included the renovation of two hospitalization rooms, the HIV Unit, Pneumology, Pulmonary Physiology, and the Medical Residency area. Additionally, two Urology operating rooms, a Hemodialysis Unit, a Microbiology Laboratory, and the Adult Emergency Service were added and expanded. These improvements aim primarily to optimize the hospital's facilities and medical services to provide quality care to patients.
