Morena rejects the appointment of Irlanda as head of the Treasury in Guadalajara. The party expressed its disagreement, labeling the decision as "improvisation and imposition of appointments in the municipal administration," which is why they decided not to attend the appointment of Irlanda Baumbach as the new treasurer.
In relation to this, they expressed concern about the "authoritarian" rotation of key personnel within the administration, denouncing processes they believe are taking place "without respect," "without dialogue or transparency not only in the Cabildo, but also in the General Secretariat and other strategic areas." In light of this situation, they announced they would take actions "with caution" in response to what they consider a "systematic practice."
Irlanda Baumbach Valencia, the new treasurer of Guadalajara, holds a degree in Accounting from the Panamerican University and is a recognized figure within Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) Jalisco. Additionally, she has certification in Government Accounting and a master's degree in Comprehensive Auditing. Throughout her career, she has specialized in Government Management, Financial and Tax Administration of the Municipal Public Treasury, as well as in the implementation of modernization projects and public licenses.
She was the treasurer of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga twice during the administration of Alberto Uribe and Salvador Zamora, and previously held the position of treasurer of Guadalajara during the interim presidency of Enrique Ibarra Pedroza. After the resignation of Ricardo Rodríguez Jiménez as treasurer of Guadalajara for personal reasons, Irlanda Baumbach was elected unanimously to fill the position.
The Mayor of Guadalajara, Verónica Delgadillo, celebrated the election of Irlanda Baumbach as the new treasurer, highlighting her preparation and experience. Delgadillo emphasized the importance of a woman with Baumbach's qualities holding this position in the city, underscoring her knowledge of the city's vision and her track record that demonstrates her capacity to lead the treasury.
