In the city of Guadalajara, acts of vandalism were reported against public transport units, causing concern among users, reported Amilcar López Zepeda, general director of Public Transport. Five buses circulating in the Jalisco capital were attacked with eggs, resulting in damage such as broken windows and affected signs, according to photos shared on social media.

One of the attacks took place on route 20, specifically on unit AM 043 which was traveling on Boulevard Brasil and Churubusco. The incidents were concentrated in the neighborhoods of Lomas del Paraíso and Chulavista, detailed the transportation director, noting that in the case of more serious incidents, authorities and their supervisory area would be notified.

As a preventive measure against future acts of vandalism, transporters decided to use older units, while the Citizens Security Commission deployed over 800 agents to patrol the streets and avenues of Guadalajara. These security operations will be maintained throughout the night, especially on Halloween, a date when vandalism is common in the city.

Last year, similar incidents caused discomfort to public transport users, who needed security assistance to reach their destinations. López Zepeda emphasized that despite the attacks, the transport service continued to operate normally and dismissed the issuance of an alert to suspend service in Guadalajara.

The security operation deployed on October 31 aims to prevent acts of vandalism in the Jalisco capital. Despite delays caused by the change of units, authorities urged transport companies to report any incidents and ensured that service suspension is not being considered, always prioritizing the safety of users.
