The Guadalupe municipality has launched two new social programs to support vulnerable families. Beneficiaries will receive financial aid for food and home improvements. The initiative aims to combat social inequality and guarantee fundamental citizens' rights.

Guadalupe Government Launches Family Support Programs

The government of Guadalupe, through the Municipal DIF, presented the programs "We Grow by Eating Well" and "We Grow by Improving Your Home", through which beneficiaries will receive bimonthly support of 2,200 pesos. Through a universal card, beneficiaries will receive financial aid that can be used to buy food in supermarkets, with the aim of guaranteeing the right to nutritious food for Guadalupe families. "Today, I am very happy that with this card, we have adequate food," said Mayor Héctor García. Through "We Grow by Improving Your Home", citizens will have support for the regularization of land tenure in irregular settlements in the municipality, and in cases of high vulnerability, they will be able to access support for home improvements. Beneficiaries of both programs must live in one of the 35 colonies with the worst social conditions, in addition to passing a socioeconomic study and not being registered in other government support programs. These actions are part of the six fundamental rights that the Government of Guadalupe seeks to guarantee through the "We Grow" Social Protection Strategy, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN). "Guadalupe is a great municipality, with the best people, people with heart, hardworking people, but it needs the authority to be sensitive and to accompany them in the difficulty that any family has to survive."
