The municipality of Guadalupe has made a donation of 200 thousand pesos to the Mexican Red Cross to support its humanitarian work. The check was symbolically delivered by Mayor Héctor García and the president of the municipal DIF System, Blanca Treviño, to the general director of the Mexican Red Cross in Nuevo León, Rogelio Ayala, who thanked them for their collaboration.
The mayor expressed, "My wife and I will go out on the street to say 'help us, lend us a hand, contribute something to the Red Cross,' because we don't know when you might need it, hopefully never, hopefully months go by without needing the service. No one knows if tomorrow or the day after you might have a health incident or an accident." He also announced that he would personally donate one month's salary to contribute to this campaign.
In the year 2024, the Mexican Red Cross provided 27,158 free ambulance services and 45,616 medical services in the municipality of Guadalupe, thanks to the generosity of citizens who collaborate with the institution. The annual collection for 2025 began on February 27 and will conclude on June 15, encouraging the people of Guadalupe to show their empathy once again to support the assistance work of the Red Cross.
Regarding infrastructure, the comprehensive rehabilitation of pavement on main avenues in Guadalupe shows an overall progress of 45%. The mayor has instructed the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Urban Development to provide safe streets and quality pavement to improve mobility in the city.
Notable progress includes 80% on Avenida Eloy Cavazos, 30% on Israel Cavazos, 57% on Avenida Guadalajara, and 16% on Benito Juárez. In addition to the main avenues, work is being done to improve the pavement on secondary streets and within the neighborhoods of the municipality.
