The Coordinating Business Council of the State of Guanajuato coordinates 11 business organizations representing 3,500 companies and generating around 30,000 direct jobs in the Bajío region. In 2024, the distribution of recognized companies with the ESR Distinction in these states was as follows: Large companies in Guanajuato (41), Michoacán (5), and Aguascalientes (3); SMEs in Guanajuato (127), Michoacán (21), and Aguascalientes (8).
The CCEI has opened the call for more companies to join the ESR program in 2025 in order to promote social responsibility. Interested parties can consult the rules and requirements on the official council page. Guanajuato stands out as a benchmark in the country, demonstrating that collaboration between government and the private sector is key to sustainable development.
The Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) awarded the CCEI the National First Place for Performance in promoting CSR, positioning Guanajuato as one of the most committed entities to sustainability and positive social impact. A total of 168 companies in the state have received the Socially Responsible Company Distinction, of which 41 are large companies and 127 are Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Guanajuato has been recognized as the only Promoting Entity of CSR in Mexico for the fifth consecutive year, reflecting the commitment to implementing responsible business practices. Through the Ministry of Economy, strategies have been generated for more companies to adopt sustainable business models with a positive impact on society.
The CCEI has not only promoted CSR in Guanajuato but also in Aguascalientes and Michoacán, consolidating its role as a Regional Ally of CEMEFI since 2012.
