The Attorney General's Office of the State of Guanajuato announced the start of the review and update process of the ALBA Protocol, an essential mechanism for the immediate search of missing women and girls in the state. This protocol is key in the fight against the disappearance of women in Guanajuato and seeks to strengthen the current regulations, as well as improve inter-institutional coordination in the location of victims.
As part of this process, the Attorney General's Office has launched a public call directed at academics, civil society organizations, human rights and gender specialists, media, and the general public. The objective is for them to participate by providing proposals and observations for the update of the ALBA Protocol of Guanajuato, which was issued in 2020 through an Inter-institutional Agreement between the State Executive and the Attorney General's Office.
Contributions from interested parties will be received until February 14, 2025, through the email address protocoloalbagto@fgeguanajuato.gob.mx and at the official headquarters of the Attorney General's Office. Those contributions that are considered will receive recognition in the official publication of the new document, which seeks to improve efficiency and democratize decision-making regarding the disappearance of women in the region.
One of the main goals of this update process is to adapt the ALBA Protocol to current needs, increasing its effectiveness in addressing cases of disappearance. The collaboration of citizens and experts in the field is essential to achieve this objective and improve the response to the disappearance of women and girls in Guanajuato.
