The state official presented the health system's progress as part of the 'Government of the People' report, ensuring that a people-centered model is being consolidated. 'In addition, there were more than 157 thousand discharges and over 717 thousand emergency attentions, while the zero-rejection policy ensures effective access for all Guanajuato residents,' explained Gabriel Cortés Alcalá, Secretary of Health. The zero-rejection strategy allows for attending to patients regardless of their insurance status, prioritizing immediate care. In this context, the agency reported: More than 2.5 million medical consultations, 714 thousand emergency attentions, 96 thousand surgeries, and 1.8 million public health actions. Additionally, more than 2.3 million prescriptions were filled, including high-cost treatments. Reducing Teen Pregnancies and Addressing Violence In reproductive health matters, a reduction of 54 underage pregnancies and 882 in adolescents was registered compared to 2024. Also, 1,699 requests from victims of violence were attended to, with immediate access even without identification, in addition to actions against workplace violence. Strengthening Mental Health and Addiction Treatment The state operates a network of 632 medical units, of which 152 provide specialized care. During 2025, the following were reported: 275 thousand mental health consultations, training for 2,542 professionals, training for 264 thousand people in psychological first aid, and more than 142 thousand preventive actions. Likewise, 9 community centers and one comprehensive addiction center are operational. Modernizing Emergencies and Infrastructure The state system strengthened its response capacity with: 17 new ambulances (investment exceeding 32 million pesos), the incorporation of a helicopter in the process of reassignment for emergencies, supervision of 109 establishments, and regulation of 353 rehabilitation centers, with 26 sanctions.
