Just a few weeks ago, Kakalo was crowned the winner of the Viña Festival with his song "Tierra Trágame." The Mexican singer not only represented his country but also a musical genre, demonstrating the confidence and support of his record label Socios Music, owned by Carin León.
Kakalo, born in Hermosillo, had his first professional approach to music in 2014 by competing in La Voz México and being selected by Julián Álvarez. Later, he opened some concerts for Álvarez and established his own recording studio in his hometown, where figures like Christian Nodal began to record their songs.
Kakalo's talent as a songwriter caught Carin León's attention, who recorded three of his songs for her album ‘Colmillo de Leche.’ One of these collaborations, "De piedra a papel" alongside Pablo Alborán, turned out to be a success. Impressed by his work, León offered him a contract to join her record label, Socios Music, making him her first signing.
Kakalo's entry into Carin León's label opened doors for him, including participating in the prestigious Viña Festival in Chile, where he captivated the audience with his music. His rise in the music industry has been steady, with one album released and another in preparation.
Despite belonging to a prominent label, Kakalo knows he must continue to strive to earn a place in both the regional Mexican and pop scenes. He has the ambition to conquer various musical markets, following the example of his mentor Carin León.
The possibility of participating in Carin León's concert tour, 'Boca Chueca Tour 2025', in Chile in October, opens new doors for Kakalo. Returning and consolidating his presence with the Chilean public would be a significant step in his career.
With the determination to take his music internationally, Kakalo is preparing to showcase his talent on stages across the continent.
