President Claudia Sheinbaum informed this Saturday that she instructed the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, to send a support team to assist the families and injured in the explosion and fire registered at a Waldos store located in the downtown area of Hermosillo, Sonora.
Through her personal X account, the head of state expressed her condolences to the families and loved ones of the people who died as a result of the disaster that occurred this Saturday afternoon.
She also indicated that she is in contact with the governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo, to support Hermosillo in the adverse situation it is facing.
In turn, Durazo Montaño announced via a video that he instructed the corresponding authorities to initiate a thorough investigation to clarify the facts and determine responsibilities.
The state governor lamented the death of 23 people in the incident, including minors.
He also ordered 'all state agencies' to provide comprehensive support, medical and psychological care to the victims' families.

On the other hand, the Secretariat of Education and Culture of Sonora issued a press release stating that in solidarity with the victims following the tragedy at the Waldos store, the 'Día de Muertos' concert scheduled for this Saturday, November 1st, at the Bosque Urbano La Sauceda, was canceled.
