The band Los Recoditos reported that they were victims of an attempted robbery while traveling on the Libramiento de Hermosillo highway. Despite the incident, they managed to avoid the robbery upon noticing an exit towards Guadalajara a few kilometers ahead.
"We stopped ahead, still frightened, patched the glass, and left. We have traveled to many places, Puebla, Tijuana, Chiapas, dangerous areas, but this has never happened to us," commented Christian Oronia, one of the band members.
The musical group was en route to Gilroy, California, for a scheduled concert when they were attacked. During the trip, people threw large stones from a bridge that struck the bus they were traveling in, causing damage to the vehicle and even breaking the glass.
The musicians explained that the intention of such actions is to force drivers to stop so they can commit robberies. Despite the damages suffered, they expressed gratitude that there were no serious injuries. After the incident, Los Recoditos lamented what happened and called for more security on the highways.
This is not the first episode of violence the band has faced, as in May 2023 they were also targeted by gunfire against the bus they were traveling in on the Mexico-Morelia highway. Fortunately, on both occasions, there were no serious injuries, but the band members expressed their dismay over the insecurity situation they faced during their travels.
