El Charco is a renowned seafood restaurant in Hermosillo that has hosted several celebrities, including the regional band Calibre 50 and boxer Julio César Chávez. Behind this recognized establishment was Carlos Tirado, who was tragically murdered on February 16 by an individual who pretended to be a delivery person for the Didi platform.
Mariscos El Charco opened its doors in 2011 in Hermosillo, Sonora. From the beginning, it specialized in selling seafood, offering dishes such as shrimp, ceviches, aguachiles, and scallops. Over time, they expanded their menu to include dishes like seafood rice, boiled octopus, governor tacos, and desserts. Additionally, they began offering live music on weekends.
Among the celebrities who have visited El Charco are Julio César Chávez, Leonel García, Ana Gabriela Guevara, Lenin Ramírez, Los Recoditos, among others. The restaurant has also been visited by personalities such as the governor of Sonora Alfonso Durazo Montaño and musician Julián Álvarez.
The restaurant's menu features a wide variety of dishes with prices ranging from 45 to 150 pesos for drinks, and an average of 290 pesos per dish. Some of the standout dishes include breaded fillets, shrimp prepared in various ways, Fettuccine with peppers, Zarandeado fish, grilled octopus, among others.
Despite the tragedy, it is still unknown what will happen to the restaurant. It is unclear whether it will remain open after 'Charly' Tirado's death. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case, after it was revealed that the alleged murderer pretended to be a Didi delivery person and that the motorcycle used in the crime was found near the establishment.
