After receiving anonymous complaints and conducting an inspection operation where drugs, cell phones, and other prohibited objects were seized, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) has decided to request the removal of the director of the Huejotzingo prison. It is considered that he does not have the appropriate profile for the position and various irregularities have been identified in his management.
The head of state security, Francisco Sánchez González, revealed that they received an anonymous complaint last Sunday indicating bad practices within the social reintegration center of that municipality. Although the origin of the complaint was not specified, an inspection of the prison was ordered to verify the situation, which was carried out respecting human rights and established protocols, with the participation of personnel from the Undersecretariat of Penitentiary Centers.
During the search, several prohibited objects and substances resembling drugs were confiscated, including 18 packages containing possible crystal and marijuana, seven screens with five controllers, 11 speakers, 17 cell phones with 28 accessories, 26 fans, four electric devices, and seven sharp weapons. The aim of this intervention is to strengthen the penitentiary system and ensure safe conditions for both staff and inmates.
The State Government directly manages five penitentiary centers, while the other 11, including the one in Huejotzingo, are the responsibility of the municipalities. For this reason, it will be recommended to the mayor of Huejotzingo, Roberto Solís Valles, the dismissal of the current director of the prison, as according to the criteria of the SSP, he does not meet the necessary profile for the position.
