Controversy Surrounds Minors' Case in Huimilpan

The Adax Digitales collective reported that the Prosecutor's Office of Querétaro accused a 14-year-old girl of qualified homicide after she suffered an involuntary abortion and became pregnant due to a rape allegedly committed by a relative three years older than her. The request was for a three-year prison sentence for the girl at the Social Reintegration Center for Adolescents.

In response to this situation, Adax Digitales indicated that a psychology expert determined that the minor had not revealed the details of the rape due to the lack of effective sexual education and counseling that would have provided her with confidence. Despite this evidence, the investigation was closed and it was ruled that no criminal action would be taken, generating controversy and criticism.

The head of the Federal Government's Ministry of Women, Citlalli Hernández, described the actions of the Querétaro Prosecutor's Office as unprecedented and illegal and announced her intention to request a working group with various entities and representatives to address the case. Mayra Dávila, president of Adax Digitales, mentioned that the date of the trial against the minor will be announced soon, emphasizing that the lack of gender perspective and legal logic in the pursuit of justice is unjust in situations like this.

The trial continues and, according to Mayra Dávila, the Prosecutor's Office requested a sum of money as compensation for damages, despite the initial denial from the alleged father. It was mentioned that the minor is under a precautionary measure of house arrest imposed by a judge, a situation that has sparked outrage and concern in various sectors. The defense has expressed its rejection of certain evidence presented by the Prosecutor's Office, deemed re-victimizing and unrelated to the case in question.
