Governor of Querétaro Commits to Support Minor

The governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, pledged to provide support to E., a 14-year-old girl from Huimilpan, who is accused by the State Attorney General's Office of causing the death of her baby during childbirth. This situation has generated controversy, as there are conflicting versions between the prosecutor's office and the young girl's defense.

On one hand, the prosecutor's office claims that there is no evidence of rape and that the baby's death was due to strangulation, while the defense argues that there was indeed sexual assault and that the death of the baby was due to natural causes caused by malformations. After the case came to the attention of President Claudia Sheinbaum, who offered legal support to the young girl and her family, the governor issued a statement expressing concern over the matter and the need to support girls and adolescents in situations like this.

The governor stated that his government will support the minor and her family, appealing to listen to and believe E.'s version, who claims that her pregnancy was the result of rape and that her baby's death was a miscarriage, not strangulation as indicated by the prosecutor's office. Additionally, Kuri González called on the prosecutor's office to act with sensitivity and prioritize the best interests of the child and gender perspective in this case.

Furthermore, the governor announced that he will soon launch programs aimed at preventing violence, education, and the formation of values in Querétaro. He emphasized that protecting the rights of girls, boys, and adolescents is a priority for his government and that special attention will be given to the family of the minor involved, as well as support for the girl herself during this process.
