Ex-Police Director Found Dead in Huitzilac

Óscar Meza García, former director of the Traffic Police of Huitzilac, was found dead in a vehicle on the borders of Cuernavaca and Tepoztlán one day after being reported missing. The former official was being investigated in relation to the kidnapping of the judge from the MasterChef Celebrity program, Zahie Téllez Neme. Municipal agents, state agents, the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and forensic personnel gathered at the scene, confirming the identity of the deceased as Óscar Meza García.

Meza García, 52 years old, was reported missing on January 29 in Huitzilac. The Attorney General's Office of Morelos issued a search bulletin detailing his physical appearance and the clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance, including a scar on his back and a mole under his right eye.

Óscar Meza García was detained as a witness in the investigations for the kidnapping of Zahie Téllez Neme and her husband, Alberto Escobar. His detention took place in the context of the operation to rescue the couple in the border area between Mexico City and Morelos. Meza García, along with other traffic agents, was detained late last year after revealing information about the possible involvement of members of the corporation in the case.

The former mayor of Huitzilac, Rafael Vargas, lamented Meza García's death and expressed his sorrow through his social media, highlighting the dedication and love that the former director had for the town. Vargas called for divine justice and expressed his desire for the events in this "so cowardly and regrettable" case to be clarified. So far, only one person has been detained in relation to the kidnapping.

The body of Óscar Meza García was found wrapped in blankets inside the trunk of a Nissan Tsuru with license plates PVL-785-C. Authorities confirmed the find and cordoned off the area to begin the relevant investigations. The case is still being investigated by authorities, and it is expected that the judicial process will progress in the coming weeks.
