Violence in Mexico remains an alarming problem, and recently, the renowned Mexican football team, Irapuato FC, was the victim of a million-dollar robbery at its facilities. According to local authorities, an armed group entered the Sergio León Chávez Stadium during the early hours of Sunday, May 4, and managed to steal around 4 million pesos, corresponding to ticket sales and internal revenue at the stadium.

The authorities of the Citizen Security Secretariat have taken action and are conducting the relevant investigations. Legal advice has been provided to the affected parties so they can file a complaint. It was reported that the criminals fled the scene in several trucks after committing the robbery.

Currently, the Irapuato FC team competes in the Premier League of Mexican football, that is, in the Professional Second Division, and recently secured its place in the final of the category by defeating Cimarrones de Sonora. Despite having private security personnel, the official statement from the local government mentions that details about the perpetrators and the exact amount stolen are unknown, as this information has been withheld by the stadium officials.

Local reports indicate that the assailants arrived when administrative personnel were present, using violence to commit the robbery. So far, the club has not provided further information on the matter; however, it is expected that the facts will be clarified and appropriate measures will be taken to prevent situations like this from happening in the future.
