The city of Irapuato, in Guanajuato, is preparing for the Irapuato City Festival 2025: We Are Eraitzicutzio in commemoration of its 478th anniversary. The event will take place from February 3 to 18 and promises a varied program for the enjoyment of citizens and the attraction of visitors.

In a press conference, more than 100 activities were detailed, including performances by renowned artists such as Las Tres Grandes and the band Porter. The director of the Municipal Institute of Culture, Gloria Cano, emphasized that more than 200 artists have joined to make this festival a cultural meeting space and celebration.

There will be exhibitions, concerts, street storytellers, cinema, certified tourist guides, art sales, sports activities such as a bike ride and a half marathon, as well as religious and gastronomic events in more than 25 public spaces in the city.

The municipal president, Lorena Alfaro García, highlighted that this festival is a tribute to local culture and represents the city's ability to transform and overcome challenges. Attendance of 50,000 people, both locals and visitors, is expected, and it is projected nationally as a culturally relevant event.

Regarding security, it is acknowledged that the city faces challenges, but there is confidence in the success of the cultural event. The topic of migrants was also addressed, reiterating cooperation to provide assistance despite the limited infrastructure to house them for long periods.

The mayor mentioned an upcoming meeting with state and federal authorities to address infrastructure issues, such as the Mexico-Querétaro train, with hopes that it will have a stop in Irapuato due to its importance for industrial activity in the region.
