APIMEX Renews Leadership in León with Focus on Innovation and Global Markets

The Mexican Association of Industrial Suppliers (APIMEX) renewed its leadership with the swearing-in of Mauricio Ruiz Campos as president for the 2026-2027 period. The new leadership arrives with a route focused on innovation, expansion into new markets, and strengthening the value chain, in one of the key sectors for León's economy. Defining the route: innovation and global markets In his speech, Ruiz Campos announced that his management will be guided by strategic axes such as Fashion, Musa, Anpic, Divex, New Markets, Innovation, and Social Responsibility. “These work axes are designed to cover what we lack today, in such a way that our value chain is strengthened day by day,” said Mauricio Ruiz Campos, the new president of Apimex. The objective, he said, is to professionalize the industry and consolidate its competitiveness both nationally and internationally. A call to close ranks At the event, Mayor Alejandra Gutiérrez highlighted that León's growth depends on the joint work between government, companies, and citizens. “León is doing well and we are going for more, but we do it as a team, in unity,” she pointed out. In addition, she emphasized the resilience of the industrial sector and reaffirmed the municipality's support to promote training, innovation, and business development. Industry as the state's engine In turn, Governor of Guanajuato Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo recognized APIMEX's role as a key player in economic development. “APIMEX has been and will continue to be a compass that guides our industry towards innovation, sustainability, and the markets of the future,” she affirmed. With 190 associated companies, APIMEX remains one of the pillars of industrial supply in Guanajuato, at a time when innovation and opening up to new markets will mark the pace of economic growth. The sector's message also included a defense of the industry's social role. “Formal work not only generates income, it gives purpose, dignity, and stability,” stated Padilla Padilla, while emphasizing that being an entrepreneur today means creating the future. In Mexico, more than 99% of companies are SMEs and generate 70% of employment, but their participation in GDP reflects a gap that APIMEX seeks to close by strengthening local supply.
