With over 69 thousand square meters of public spaces recovered and the removal of 32 tons of waste, a direct impact on the quality of urban life is reflected, looking ahead to the 2026 World Cup. To showcase a clean and orderly metropolis, the Football Impact Festival Trust (Fidefifa), through LimpiaLeón, continues to make efforts to maintain a dignified urban image for the FIFA World Cup. During the period from March 30 to April 4, 2026, Fidefifa, operationally led by the Secretary of Citizen Participation, Daniel Acosta, intensified its comprehensive maintenance work through the LimpiaLeón program. This achieved significant advances in the urban transformation of the metropolis. These actions are carried out under the instruction and backing of the Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, who serves as the president of the Nuevo León FIFA 2026 Coordinating Committee. This body is responsible for leading the state strategies towards the world championship, strengthening institutional coordination and the impact of these works. Strategic Deployment Thanks to a strategic deployment in key points, 69,582 square meters of public spaces were recovered and dignified through deep cleaning and weed removal, improving the urban environment and the quality of life for citizens. Also, 32 tons of solid urban waste were removed, preventing infection foci and freeing up public thoroughfares. In the urban image area, 483 square meters of walls were rehabilitated with anti-graffiti paint, contributing to restoring visual order in different sectors. In parallel, road safety was reinforced by applying paint to 996 linear meters of curbs, improving visibility and delineation for drivers and pedestrians. As part of the commitment to sustainability, 11.5 tons of organic mulch were placed in green areas of main avenues, strengthening environmental conservation and the maintenance of public spaces. Interventions were concentrated on strategic axes such as Ignacio Morones Prieto Avenue, Constitución Avenue, Cuauhtémoc Avenue, Benito Juárez Avenue, Tolteca Avenue, Azteca Avenue, Pablo Livas Avenue. In addition to key streets like Guadalupe and Federico Gómez, consolidating a comprehensive impact on urban infrastructure. Fidefifa, created in 2025 as a financial and operational instrument of the Government of Nuevo León, aims to administer resources for the rehabilitation of spaces, infrastructure, mobility, and tourism, guaranteeing optimal conditions for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
