Five Alleged Car Thieves Arrested in León

In León, a coordinated operation led to the arrest of five alleged car thieves, known for breaking vehicle windows and stealing. The police acted swiftly based on citizen reports and surveillance footage, leading to multiple captures in different neighborhoods.


Five Alleged Car Thieves Arrested in León

A joint operation by the León Police and the Computing, Command, Communications, and Control Center (C4) led to the arrest of five alleged criminals dedicated to breaking into vehicles, known as "cristaleros". These individuals had criminal records that included thefts, drug possession, and other property crimes.

In the first case, a citizen alerted 911 about a group of men who had broken the window of a Ford Pick Up truck on Antonio Madrazo Boulevard, Santa Rosa de Lima neighborhood. The suspects fled in a red Mazda, being intercepted by the Municipal Police in a shopping plaza in the Los Murales neighborhood. Among those arrested were Cruz Gilberto, Osvaldo de Jesús, and Emanuel, who had extensive criminal histories.

In another intervention, Cristóbal Daniel and Carlos Alfredo were captured on Francisco González Bocanegra Boulevard, León Moderno neighborhood. These individuals also had multiple prior arrests, including drug possession and vehicle theft. Alongside them, a red Mazda 3, a white Jeep truck, and other valuable items were confiscated.

The detainees were made available to the State Attorney General's Office to determine their legal situation. The cooperation between the León Police and the C4 allowed for the dismantling of this "cristaleros" gang and the arrest of the alleged criminals in various areas of the city.
