Seven Arrested in Drug-Related Operation in León

In a joint operation to reinforce security in Guanajuato, authorities conducted a raid at a residence in the municipality of León, where seven individuals were detained, including two minors, linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

Inside the property, security forces found the lifeless body of a person wrapped in blankets. A security perimeter was established, and the necessary steps were taken to obtain the search warrant in collaboration with the Attorney General's Office of the State of Guanajuato.

During the raid, in addition to the arrests, a firearm, a vehicle, and the corpse were seized. The detainees, aged between 16 and 40 years, were informed of their rights and placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding investigations.

The arrest of the suspects and the discovery of evidence, such as the lifeless body, highlight the connection of the detainees with the CJNG, responsible for a significant portion of the violence in the region. The operation involved the participation of various institutions, including the Secretariat of National Defense, the Secretariat of the Navy, the Attorney General's Office, the National Guard, and the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection, in collaboration with local authorities.

Security forces intervened in the León I neighborhood, detecting a group of individuals who attempted to flee upon noticing their presence. After a chase, the agents managed to stop several of the suspects and seize a firearm in the possession of one of them.

The detention of these individuals and the joint work of the involved institutions reinforce the Security Cabinet's commitment to ensure peace and security for citizens in Guanajuato.
