
The Cultural Institute of León (ICL) is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special program of free activities for the entire community. This anniversary is a unique opportunity to enjoy cultural expressions in different spaces of the city, with free access for all attendees.
Among the highlighted events of the ICL's 25th anniversary is a tribute concert to María Grever that will take place at the Teatro María Grever on Thursday, February 6 at 7:00 PM. The Municipal Band of León will perform pieces by the renowned Guanajuato composer in a commemorative recital. Another highlighted event is the grand symphonic concert with the participation of several orchestras from León, which will be held at the Teatro Manuel Doblado on Saturday, February 15 at 7:00 PM.
Additionally, there will be screenings of short films such as "Life Stories" and "Story of a Farm" at the Museum of Leónese Identities on Thursday, February 27 at 7:00 PM. The 76th International Film Showcase of the National Film Archive will also take place at the Plaza de Gallos from February 20 to 28, featuring outstanding films such as "Deep Crimson" by Arturo Ripstein and "The Burden of Dreams" by Les Blank.
Another important part of the special program includes a cycle of visual arts exhibitions at the Diego Rivera Cultural House, the Teatro María Grever, and the Jesús Gallardo Gallery starting February 15. These exhibitions will present the work of local and national artists, providing an opportunity to appreciate and learn about different artistic expressions.
