During the upcoming weekend, thousands of visitors are expected in the city of León for the Buen Fin and the International Balloon Festival (FIG). To ensure safety and public order, the Secretary of Security, Prevention and Citizen Protection (SSPPC) has designed a special operation that will take place from November 15 to 18. This operation will include the participation of the Municipal Police, Traffic Police, Civil Protection, Firefighters, and other agencies.
Additionally, a pre-hospital care tent will be set up to provide first aid to attendees. Given the large expected influx of people, the SSPPC calls on citizens to take precautions such as keeping belongings in sight, avoiding leaving valuables in vehicles, taking care of children and the elderly, establishing meeting points in case of loss, staying hydrated, and protecting themselves from the sun.
Security personnel will be deployed in shopping centers, self-service stores, public spaces, and in the vicinity of the Metropolitan Park, where the FIG will take place. The Skin Zone and the outlets on Boulevard Aeropuerto will receive special attention. More than 2,000 establishments will join the Buen Fin offers.
Regarding the FIG, one of the key points of the operation will be the Metropolitan Park. Alternate routes will be implemented and vehicle access will be restricted in some areas to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow. The Traffic Police will set up surveillance devices on the main boulevards leading to the park. Perimeter security will be reinforced, aid stations will be installed, and thorough supervision of the facilities will be carried out to prevent incidents.
Civil Protection will play a crucial role in the operation by inspecting electrical systems, gas facilities, and concert stages to ensure risk prevention.
