
During the 85th Annual General Assembly of the American Society of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, highlighted the country's participation in the International Tourism Fair. She stated that while there is a commitment to be a guest country, this commitment extends to all 32 states of Mexico.
Regarding safety, Rodríguez Zamora pointed out that Mazatlán, as a tourist destination, is one of the 10 safest cities in the country, dissociating it from the violent situation in Sinaloa. The Secretary of Tourism emphasized the importance of tourism as a fundamental bridge between countries, citing the United States as the main issuing market for Mexico.
The official explained that a 5% increase is expected in the U.S. tourism market, according to data from UN Tourism. Rodríguez Zamora stressed the positive perception of tourism in Mexico, inviting visitors to explore the country's cultural richness while emphasizing the safety of destinations like Mazatlán.
Regarding tourism policies, the Secretary of Tourism underscored that tourism knows no borders or colors, and that the relationship with the United States goes beyond official policies. She also mentioned the exploration of new agreements with the Asian market, in which the United States is also involved. Rodríguez Zamora emphasized the importance of offering new tourist routes and experiences to international visitors.
