The musical group Grupo Firme, originally from Tijuana, Baja California, enjoys great popularity today and has collaborated with international stars. However, they are facing controversy after the appearance of a narcomanta in their hometown warning them that they will be annihilated if they perform in Mazatlán, Sinaloa.
On Tuesday, February 25, the mentioned narcomanta was reported in Tijuana, where a human head was also found in a cooler, a common method in the drug trafficking world to send intimidating messages. The narcomanta directed at Grupo Firme stated: "Grupo Firme, if you play at the Mazatlán Carnival, we are going to kill you all" and added that even the lighting crew would be targeted by the threats.
Images of the narcomanta were spread on social media, generating fear among the local residents. Drivers who saw it immediately notified the authorities. It is worth noting that a similar message had previously been received.
Grupo Firme's performance at the Mazatlán Carnival is scheduled for March 1, although the threats have raised concerns. Ticket sales for the event are ongoing, with prices ranging from $500 to $3900 pesos. This situation has unsettled other artists, such as Julio Preciado, who lamented what happened in an interview.
