Violence Leads to Cancellation of Carnival Shows

In the last hours of anguish in the northern part of the country, a wave of violence has erupted that has generated concern. Yesterday, a narcomanta was found threatening Grupo Firme if they participated in the Mazatlán Carnival. Shortly after, the Diario Bastain reported through their social networks the cancellation of the group's performance scheduled for March 1.

Now, the cancellation of the performance of Jorge Medina and Josi Cuen at the Mazatlán Carnival has been added to this situation. Through a statement on social media, they expressed their regret and announced the suspension of their participation: "Attention Mazatlán! Jorge Medina and Josi Cuen cancel performance at the Mazatlán Carnival. We deeply regret not being able to be with you." Without revealing the reasons, they mentioned that the cancellation is due to issues unrelated to the ‘JUNTOS’ show.

The concert 'Juntos' by Jorge Medina and Josi Cuen was originally scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2025, during the Coronation of the King of Mazatlán. So far, the carnival organizers have not issued a statement regarding ticket refunds, which has generated concern among the public who are asking: "And what about tomorrow's refund?" and "When will the refund be??? because we paid for a concert not for a coronation."
