The alleged explosives expert Rogelio "N", alias "El Gato", was arrested this Wednesday in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, in a joint operation involving various federal security forces. He is identified as part of the criminal group "Los Chapitos" and was being sought for alleged qualified homicide in the degree of Attempt in Durango.

According to authorities, Rogelio "El Gato", 42 years old, was part of a criminal cell linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, specifically to the faction "Los Chapitos". He is attributed with violent activities in Sinaloa, Durango, and Coahuila, where he specialized in the manufacture and use of explosives. The detainee was located in the Invasión del Palmito neighborhood in Mazatlán, thanks to intelligence and surveillance work.

At the time of his capture, he was found in possession of a short firearm. Federal and state authorities have emphasized that investigations continue in order to dismantle the criminal structures in the region, especially those dedicated to the use of explosives as "El Gato" did.

After his arrest, he was informed of his constitutional rights and was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office to determine his legal status. With this blow to organized crime, the authorities have expressed their commitment to enhance security in Sinaloa and work in coordination to restore order in the area.

The Secretary of Public Security and Citizen Protection of the Government of Mexico, Omar García Harfuch, highlighted the importance of this capture in the fight against crime. The operation involved the Secretary of National Defense, Secretary of the Navy, Attorney General's Office, National Guard, and the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection.
