The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) confirmed on Wednesday the arrest of Daniel 'N', the alleged perpetrator of the disappearance and murder of Ana Karen Nute, a Pedagogy student who lost her life after requesting a motorcycle ride through the Didi app.
On the evening of Saturday, February 28, Ana Karen attended a party in the Villas del Sauce subdivision, in the municipality of San Antonio la Isla. In the images, the driver, now identified as the arrested Daniel 'N', is seen wearing a blue jacket and a black cap. The ride was marked as 'completed' in the app just minutes after it started, but Ana Karen never reached her destination in Metepec.
After three days of searching, the young woman's body was located on March 3, next to the Toluca-Tenango highway, in a sparsely populated area of San Miguel Totocuitlapilco, belonging to the Metepec municipality.
The victim's family has denounced that the Didi platform did not offer an immediate response to requests for information about the driver and the vehicle. They also pointed out that the authorities took a long time to provide the 'call log' and the geolocation of the mobile device, tools they consider could have been crucial in locating Ana Karen alive during the first hours of her disappearance.

The UniverMilenium University, where Ana Karen was studying, issued a statement expressing its condolences and remembering the young woman for her 'enthusiasm, warmth, and academic commitment'.
Around 11:10 PM, the young woman requested the transportation service. Surveillance cameras from the subdivision's gate captured the young woman briefly speaking with security personnel before boarding a scooter.
Among her classmates and teachers, indignation grows, demanding that the case not go unpunished and that the full weight of the law be applied to the detainee.
